Youth Engagement Coordinator

Pink Leaf is a life skills and empowerment organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty - one skill, one person, one opportunity at a time. We are seeking a Youth Engagement Coordinator who is passionate about designing and facilitating empowering, educational activities that develop life skills and strong support networks for teenage youth and young adults. Our Youth Engagement Coordinators are articulate, positive, detail-oriented, and organized professionals who interact with field experts, state officials, older youth services agencies, youth and young adults consistently and with infectious enthusiasm for experiential learning and youth development. More specifically, our Youth Engagement Coordinators:

· Interact with state officials and older youth services agencies to identify and refer youth to participate in experiential learning activities, national surveys, and other older youth initiatives

· Coordinate a team of professionals dedicated to developing and executing FUN and purposeful experiences for youth including thoughtful planning and engagement throughout the referral process, on-site delivery and post-activity follow up

· Recruit field experts to lead experiences for youth including managing background checks, teaching and honoraria contracts, and activity schedules

· Serve as lead facilitator and on-site staff for designated activities, organizing and coordinating every detail of the activity including pre-planning, on-site execution and post-event follow-up ensuring safe, positive, purposeful experiences for youth and field experts in attendance

· Maintain timely and accurate records of activities including youth and field expert participation, detailed notes regarding participant experiences, evaluative feedback and suggestions, and outcome metrics

· Cultivate new ideas for youth engagement and experiential learning activities and accommodate specific requests whenever possible

· Write, edit, approve, compile and submit timely, well-written, concise monthly reports to referral sources; participate in developing and writing funding proposals as requested

· In collaboration with Marketing and Communications Coordinator, develop, communicate and promote youth engagement and participation in experiential learning activities through published materials as well as non-published materials and public speaking engagements

· Communicate regularly with Pink Leaf leadership regarding youths’ experiences, professional interactions, and development and execution of youth initiatives

· Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, respect and confidentiality in written and verbal communication with all professional colleagues and youth and in all record-keeping and report documentation

The Youth Engagement Coordinator holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field and has at least one year of professional experience that demonstrates a commitment to youth, learning, and the community. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills and keen attention to details are important for success in this position. Knowledge of child welfare policies is also valuable. This role requires some evening availability and travel within central Indiana as well as occasional travel across the state of Indiana, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, clean drug screens, and passing federal, state and local background checks. This position may begin as a half-time position and is likely to become full-time during the fall.
